Long Play Typeface

Long Play is a modern sans-serif typeface with old-fashioned inspiration. Designed for a record store, the characters’ basic forms are derived from the geometric forms of vinyls, sleeves, and players. The varied line weight and inclusion of both curved and sharp corners creates a sense of movement and energy. I conducted research and completed hand-drawn renderings of the typeface on paper before building it in Adobe Illustrator and Glyphs.
